While 81% of us have felt workplace fear in some way, shape or form, around a third of the workforce feels persistent fear.

We feel fear when we preempt that something may impact our ability to survive financially, especially the big things like our job security and the state of the economic climate. This also comes through in a more subtle way, in worrying about our own ability to execute our jobs.

Individuals with persistent fear experience other associated emotions such as anger and sadness to a greater degree than those with low fear. People who feel persistent fear are also likely to be more open. In fact, they are considerably more likely to discuss their fears and the state of their mental health with colleagues.
